Louis Abel-Truchet (1857–1918) was a French painter and poster artist renowned for his expressive depictions of city life. Born in Versailles, Abel-Truchet rose to prominence around the turn of the twentieth century, becoming known for his lively paintings that conveyed the dynamic atmosphere of Paris and its environs.

He gained particular recognition for his landscapes, genre scenes, and most notably, his portrayals of Parisian nightlife. Abel-Truchet frequently illustrated vibrant street scenes, theaters, cafés, and the diverse personalities that inhabited them, capturing the essence of the Belle Époque period.

Alongside his paintings, Abel-Truchet produced numerous posters, playing a significant role in the thriving poster art movement that was gaining popularity in France at the time. His skill in merging fine art with commercial design earned him acclaim both as a painter and as a graphic artist.

During his lifetime, Abel-Truchet displayed his work at prominent salons and was actively involved in Parisian artistic circles.
