Isidre Nonell i Monturiol (30 November 1872 – 21 February 1911) was a Catalan artist renowned for capturing the lives of socially marginalized people in late 19th-century Barcelona with great expressiveness.

Nonell frequently chose to paint subjects such as destitute women, social outcasts, and those living on society’s margins. Employing bold brushstrokes and subdued colors, he conveyed both melancholy and dignity, portraying his figures with unvarnished sensitivity.
